The “acosta!@Ikebukuro Sunshine City” cosplay event was held in Ikebukuro on September 6 (Sat) and 7 (Sun), 2025. The event was a great success, attracting many cosplayers and photographers from all over Japan.

In this issue, the writer, who actually attended the event, will give a thorough report on the day’s events. From the route from the station, to the atmosphere of the venue, to the enthusiasm of the participants, to the cosplay that was a highlight of the event, we will introduce the charms of acosta!

How to get from Ikebukuro station to the venue?

The main venue for acosta! is Ikebukuro Sunshine City. It is about a 15-minute walk from the nearest JR Ikebukuro Station, and can be reached via Sunshine 60 Street and the Sunshine City Underpass. There are many commercial establishments and restaurants along the way, making it convenient for visitors to grab a bite to eat or shop before the event.

Sunshine City is a vast facility, but the acosta! venue is located on the edge, so it is a bit of a walk. However, the directions are relatively simple and I was able to get there without getting lost. We recommend that you check the directions and map on the official website before heading there.

Beginner-friendly!

acosta! was full of friendly considerations for cosplay novices and first-time event attendees.

  • Conducting lectures for beginners: Guides are held to help people learn how to enjoy cosplay events and learn manners, creating a safe and comfortable environment for participation.
  • Badges for interaction: Badges are set up for participants to interact with each other, allowing them to easily connect with fans of their favorite works and characters.

In addition, the official website has a carefully compiled “About Cosplay Manners” and “Frequently Asked Questions” section, which you can check beforehand to better enjoy the event.

A wide variety of events to add color to the event! The karaoke stage was also a great success!

In addition to cosplay and photography, there were also a number of projects to enhance the event.

Particularly impressive was the **”Karaoke Stage “**, in which anyone could participate. The venue was filled with excitement as many participants showed off their singing voices on stage. When a well-known song was played, the audience around them joined in the excitement, creating a sense of unity.

Other plans are also available to promote interaction among participants, ensuring that they will never get bored throughout the day.

Cosplay reports that convey the enthusiasm of the participants!

acosta!@Ikebukuro Sunshine City attracted high quality cosplayers from all over Japan.

The indoor and outdoor shooting areas were a blast, each taking advantage of their respective locations. The outdoor venue was especially popular for its lush vegetation and natural light, which created a fantastic atmosphere for the photos. Participants paid close attention to the details of their costumes, making them look as if they had just stepped out of a work of art.

The participating photographers were also very well-equipped with equipment, and full-scale photography was taking place. It was a spectacular sight to see the “seriousness” of each and every participant in cosplay.
